My name is Nikki, I have a BS in Biological Science, and my dream job would be a Diener (autopsy assistant). I used to assist doing tissue recoveries for disease research with a local coroner, a few more years for transplant, and I even ran for County Coroner back in 2008. Currently, I’m an Office Manager for a local electrician. I also help clients with computer repair, apply vehicle graphics, bookkeeping, sewing, photography, and several other things. During the summer I go to car shows and cruises with my 1973 Cadillac Hearse and 1994 Chevy S-10. We also go to medieval re-enactment events in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) and vend at various local events and venues. Whatever spare time I have left I spend on cleaning skulls and creating arts and crafts to sell them on Etsy. Yeah, I’m a busy girl!
Back in 2008, I ran for County Coroner in Genesee County. I was on the Independent line against two incumbent Republicans. I lost, but still got 16% of the vote!
I joined the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) around 2006 and I have a blast! It’s not quite Renn Fair, but more participation and learning. I call it an “educational Halloween party.” You get to dress up and learn stuff! I made these two outfits too.
In the SCA I have multiple “personalities” and this day I was a pirate. Check out the two websites on my Links page to learn more about the SCA and what’s in your area.
Yes, I’m an Ordained Minister too. If you’re looking for a fun-loving Priestess, or thinking about a not-quite-so-traditional wedding or ceremony, I’m your gal! LGBTQ community is very welcome.
Many moons ago, I was interviewed by the Batavia Daily newspaper for an interesting article about my skull collection. That was fun!
I have worked in morgues and ORs on and off for several years doing tissue recoveries. The first several years were for disease research, and the last two recent years was for human transplant. LOVED this job, but had to retire due to the physical demands on my body.
